In 1996, the people of Taiwan elected their president through a universal “one person, one vote” ballot, delivering a vibrant, newly independent democracy to the world. Yet, entangled by the historical construct of “China” and the brutal realities of geopolitics, this sovereign nation remains unacknowledged by most governments.

1996 年，台灣人以「一人一票」的普遍選舉權直選總統，向世界誕生出一個新興的獨立民主國家。然而，在「中國」概念的歷史糾纏與地緣政治的殘酷現實下，這個主權國家至今仍不被大多數國家承認。

With the dawn of the internet age, humanity naively believed the world would become more equal and free. Instead, autocratic regimes built digital iron curtains—the Great Firewall—blocking the entry of verified facts while systematically exporting weaponized narratives into the free world.

網路興起後，曾經人們以為世界會更平等、更自由。但現實是，獨裁政權築起了數位鐵幕，外面的真實訊息進不去，裡面經過編織的敘事卻源源不絕地向自由世界發散。

Because Taiwan and China share a common language text, Taiwan has emerged as the ground zero of China’s relentless information warfare.

台灣與中國，都用中文，成為中國資訊戰的重災戶。

Through short-form videos, whisper campaigns, orchestrated state narratives, dramas, and media operations, Beijing’s propaganda apparatus aggressively seeks to dilute Taiwanese national identity. It maneuvers to hypnotize the public into believing that Han lineage, Chinese culture, and Sinitic language are inseparable from, and historically synonymous with, state sovereignty.

透過短影音、耳語、故事、戲劇、新聞，中國敘事企圖混淆台灣人的國家認同，要讓人以為，中華血緣、中華文化、中華語言，與國家主權是同一件事，是不可分割、是自古以來的。

A shared linguistic tool is weaponized to subvert Taiwan’s sovereignty. A democratic mechanism is hijacked to destabilize Taiwan’s democracy. The ultimate objective is clear: to exploit Taiwan’s absolute freedoms to permanently annihilate a free Taiwan.

相同語言的使用，被用來欺騙、蠶食台灣的主權。民主體制的機制，被利用來破壞台灣的民主。他們利用台灣的自由，最終，要消滅自由的台灣。

Concurrently, Beijing propagates a revisionist myth to the global community, asserting that it represents the 23 million people of Taiwan and that Taiwan is an intrinsic part of China.

與此同時，北京更試圖讓國際社會產生幻覺，以為中國可以代表台灣 2,300 萬人，以為台灣就是中國的一部分。

The empirical fact remains unyielding: Taiwan is Taiwan, and it is categorically not a part of China.

In 2019, Taiwan legalized same-sex marriage, becoming the first nation in Asia to do so—a historic milestone that underscores just how fundamentally different Taiwan is from totalitarian China.

Unlike other secure, free societies, Taiwan cannot merely focus on pursuing liberty, equality, and economic prosperity. It must simultaneously wage a daily existential struggle against international isolation and forced annexation by the People’s Republic of China.

台灣很忙，彷彿不知道累。因為台灣人都明白，身為一個台灣人，本身就是一件要拼命守護的事。

This bilingual ledger speaks directly to both English and Chinese audiences. The global commons is already saturated with information framing the world through China’s lens, yet channels offering a genuine understanding of Taiwan remain dangerously scarce—particularly those reflecting a post-democratization, indigenous civic perspective.

這個網站同時面向英語使用者與中文使用者。認識中國的資訊已經太多，但真正理解台灣的管道還太少，尤其是台灣本土、民主化之後的公民角度。

Taiwan is not perfect, but Taiwan is Taiwan.
